The exhibition titled On Our Paths: With You is the result of a six-month project realised in the partnership of and cooperation between the Millennium House, the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Budapest and the Movement Development Primary and Secondary School, Standardized Special Education Methodological Institute (EGYMI) and with the support of the Hungarian Paralympic Committee.
The main objective of the project, implemented through the participation of those affected, was to demolish the imaginary walls projected around the ‘world’ of people with disabilities. We regard it as important that this joint project draws attention to acceptance and sensitises the public about people with disabilities, while creating works of art and installations that can be appreciated, explored and experienced for all.

The exhibition titled On Our Paths: With You is the result of a six-month project realised in the partnership of and cooperation between the House of the Hungarian Millennium, the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Budapest and the Movement Development Primary and Secondary School, Standardized Special Education Methodological Institute (EGYMI) and with the support of the Hungarian Paralympic Committee.
The exhibition was held at three venues: in the buildings of the Movement Development EGYMI and the House of the Hungarian Millennium, in the form of installations, as well as on the path of tales between the two institutions, which connected the two locations in Városliget.
The cooperation between the three institutions was initiated by the House of the Hungarian Millennium and was immediately joined by the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Budapest and the Movement Development EGYMI.
Designing the exhibition required significant, joint efforts that extended to a wide range of activities. Separate groups worked within the team of university students to design the installations, carry out the communication tasks and create the visual identity as well as to develop the framework programmes, during which each participant had the opportunity to see the entire process. Workshops were held to integrally and jointly lay the path to be followed by each group; based on this work the logos, pieces of art and accompanying events came into being, and a special exhibition was mounted in the reception area of the Movement Development EGYMI.
A documentary made by the university students about the half-year process debuted in the House of the Hungarian Millennium along with a special outdoor step-installation, which calls attention to the lack of acceptance for disabled people manifest in our built environment. It was also highlighted as part of the project that the clothes we wear not only play a functional role but are also a means of expressing our identity. The conscious use of innovative technologies was shown to engender a more liveable and inclusive future.
