The exhibition ’Focus’ showcases the most valuable works of the Hungarian Museum of Photography, organized into thematic units with a special approach to provide deeper insights into Hungarian photographic history and its changes in creative attitudes. Hosted by the NEO Contemporary Art Space in the House of the Hungarian Millennium, this unique exhibition opens a new chapter in the world of photography with each image.
This joint exhibition of the Museum of Fine Arts and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts explores the American-Hungarian photographic heritage of outstanding artists such as Martin Munkácsi, Robert Capa, André Kertész and László Moholy-Nagy. This large-scale exhibition celebrates the work of Hungarian photographers who have emigrated to the United States, showcasing a rich and diverse artistic heritage. The exhibition is unique in the way it pairs images by world-renowned and little-known photographers, providing a deeper insight into the diversity of photographic art.
And what makes the experience even more thrilling: thanks to the reproducibility of photography, the overlap between the artists and even the works on display in the two exhibitions allows you to discover new and unexpected connections between the two.
